Jean-Charles Rochet, Professor of Economics, Toulouse School of Economics

  • Bank regulation: capital and liquidity 
  • Payments/Platforms: Fintech and CDBC

Xavier Vives, Professor of Economics and Finance, IESE Business School, University of Navarra

Competition, fragility, and regulation in banking and financial markets, with special attention to the impact of digital technology:

  • Banking, fragility, LOLR and crises

Michael Weber, Associate Professor of Finance, Chicago Booth School of Business

The lectures will be divided into two separate tracks, each track will be taught by two lecturers. Participants who are accepted will be requested to commit to one of the tracks* during the registration.

Each participant will have the opportunity to present a paper within 30 min.

Application procedure:

Please send your application along with a CV and a paper/abstract you intend to present per email to eventswhatever@safe-frankfurt.de. Preference will be given to a single-authored papers.

Deadline for submissions: 19 May 2024

Selected candidates will be notified by the end of May 2024.

The attendance is free of charge, the organizers will cover accommodation and food. The participants are asked to cover their own travel expenses. 

Participants will arrive on Sunday afternoon, 21 July for a get-together and will depart on Friday afternoon 26 July. Lectures will be held from 22 July until 26 July (early afternoon). The slots for presentations by participants are scheduled in the afternoons.

* Please note that the organizers have the righ to re-allocate participants between the tracks.
